Hindle Take the Best

Former Portland triathlete Katherine Hindle is set to take on some of the world’s best athletes after qualifying to compete for Australia in the World Triathlon Series. The 26-year-old, who now lives in Geelong, will compete in sprint and Olympic distance events at the final event of the world triathlon season, which will be held in Cozumel, Mexico, in September. The Mexico event is the last of eight events in the World Triathlon Series and will act as the venue for the grand final.Hindle was ecstatic to be selected in the Australian contingent, after strong results in qualifying races around the country including a victory in the Victor Harbour Olympic distance event in South Australia in March.Hindle said the qualifying process was tough."There is one race in every state throughout the summer series and you have to race at least three and your top three races will go into a points draw," Hindle said.
